His Favorite Places

He loves to play "in" his cabinet.

He has discovered that the bottom shelf of this table is the perfect height for him to sit on. He spends so much time here...drinking his milk, looking at books, playing with blocks, playing peek-a-boo......

Grocery Shopping

Grocery shopping with Joshua is often an adventure at this age. He absolutely hates being stuck in the cart, so I have to find ways to keep him from being "that child" that is screaming in the store. Sometimes he is entertained by pulling things out of the diaper bag. Often I resort to letting him eat Gerber puffs the entire time I am shopping. Sometimes he is interested in what I am buying & wants to hold it. Once a while back he was holding bananas & I saw him chewing something. I pulled a sticker out of his mouth that he had taken off of the bananas & tried to eat. One day last week I was buying a pack of pears that was wrapped in cellophane. I had seen him biting the wrapping, so I took them away. While I was putting away groceries, this is what I found:

Sneaky little guy had taken a bite! He does love pears!

Laid Back

This is how I found him sleeping a few nights ago when I went to check on him. I just had to take a picture. Luckily the flash didn't disturb him at all. He really is pretty laid back!

Eighteen

Its hard to believe my sweet baby boy has so quickly grown into a "big boy"! He just turned 18 months old....quite a change from the 8 lb baby we brought home.

Fun in the Kitchen

While I was working in the kitchen, Joshua discovered that he could lock the dishwasher by moving the lever from side to side. This caused a green light to come on & go off every time he moved the lever. Needless to say, this was quite entertaining for him, for at least 5 minutes, which I guess is a really long time when you are his age! He also discovered that he can open the drawers & reach anything left on the edge of the countertop.

It's been awhile....

We were all sick for about a week with a nasty stomach virus, and other than that, life has just been hectic. I guess we haven't really had anything exciting to take pictures of lately, but I thought I had better post something soon! Here are some random pictures from the past few weeks.

Joshua with his Easter basket. I got sick later in the day on Easter, so there aren't any other Easter pictures this year!

Joshua got sick a couple of days after me & would only eat Wheat Thins and similar foods for about a week. John got sick a few days after Joshua. He started feeling better quickly & the only thing he wanted to eat for lunch the next day was a chicken nugget happy meal. So, he & Joshua enjoyed the toys from the happy meals....Pirates of the Caribbean bandanas.

One of our favorite things to do lately....stand in the front window.

He finally figured out the most efficient way to carry things while crawling (no, he still isn't walking on his own).
