Merry Christmas!
We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas this year! Things were hectic for us, as usual. I didn't get pictures at any of our get togethers! We were thrilled that my brother & his wife were able to be in town for Christmas this year! It was the first time they got to meet Timothy! In true Asbeck fashion, Timothy had an ear infection! Of course, I didn't even know it...he is such a happy baby! I took him for his 4 month check up on the 23rd & the doctor told me he had an ear infection. He wasn't running a fever or fussing at all!
The past two years, Christmas has not been as fun as we had hoped with Joshua. He was either sick or medications had recently been adjusted, causing behavior issues, etc. So, I think we went into this Christmas with pretty low expectations. However, it ended up being really fun. Joshua was in to opening presents, and actually liked some of them (it is always a gamble with him & toys). He was in a great mood at all of the family gatherings. He got excited when we talked about Santa. He even sort of helped me make cookies for Santa. We had Christmas cookie cutters & he thought the candy cane was a "J", so he cut out a few with that! He really liked eating them! On Christmas morning, I asked him if he wanted to see what Santa brought him, and he got excited. When we got downstairs, he ran right past his gifts from Santa & went straight to one of the toys he had gotten from us the day before....oh well!

Timothy was precious for his first Christmas. He smiled & laughed most of the time. He really is a very happy baby! We are so thankful to have him here! Here he is with his Taggies Elephant from Santa! This was taken at the end of the day on Christmas. He is in his Christmas outfit here, but he actually didn't wear it earlier in the day. My family arrived before I got him into it & I didn't want to put it on him right before he ate because he would spit up all over it. Somehow it got to be the end of the day & he hadn't worn it, so I needed to put it on him for at least a little bit!

Making Progress
Joshua has been making great progress this year! He has started to repeat some sounds & says some of his letters. He even started saying "more"....when he sees candy, chips, cookies, crackers. It is really cute & we love it! Of course, he gets whatever he wants "more" of when he asks! Tonight he was eating crackers & he came up to me & said "more mama". He has never said 2 words together...2 signs but never 2 words. We are so proud! Hoping to see more progress in the coming months!
Pumpkin Patch
Happy Halloween
We took the boys out to John's parents neighborhood to go trick-or-treating this year (our neighborhood only has 3 kids & Joshua is the oldest, so no one is prepared for trick-or-treaters). This is only the second time we have taken Joshua trick-or-treating...apparently we need to work on how it works a bit more! He kept wanting to just open the door & go in rather than ringing the doorbell & waiting! At one house, he opened the door twice before the home owner came to the door! He also wanted to ring the doorbells multiple times & go inside the houses. Needless to say, we didn't go to too many houses, but it was good practice for him. Timothy had just eaten & fallen asleep. He slept through me putting his costume on him & through most of the trick-or-treating!
Here's the Great Pumkin! It looks like his eyes might have been slightly open in this one.

Costumes
We had some issues with costumes this year. I knew I wanted Timothy to be a pumpkin. I had originally said it would be cute for Joshua to be Charlie Brown...then they could be the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown :) Then as Halloween got closer I wanted Joshua to be Jimmie Johnson, the NASCAR driver. Unfortunately, we couldn't find a costume except on Ebay & those were selling for $50+ not including shipping. I refused to pay that much, so the Monday before Halloween we decided on Charlie Brown. I went out & got a yellow shirt & black felt and sat up until midnight on Thursday making the shirt for him to wear at school on Friday. Everyone there loved it! I had bought Timothy's pumpkin costume earlier in October at a consignment sale. It was tagged as a 9 month size, and it was the only pumpkin costume they had in the 6 - 12 month sizes. I didn't realize it was home-made until after I got it home (which was fine). I started thinking it might actually be larger than a 9 month size (note: Timothy can actually wear some 9 month outfits at 10 weeks!). I tried the hat on him on Saturday...it was huge:
He looks like a genie!

Guess Who is 4??
Joshua turned 4 this weekend & we had such a great time! It was the first time he was kind of in to opening presents & eating cake! It was so fun to see him happy & enjoying his special day. I didn't get many good pictures...well, I wasn't taking pictures but Joshua wasn't still long enough to get many good pictures.
Joshua still doesn't like cake so it finally occurred to me this year to get a cookie cake since he loves cookies. He loved it! He even blew at the candle (I had just blown it out because he tried to grab it). He has never been able to blow before...we have worked on it for 2 years!

First Field Trip
Joshua had his first field trip this week. His preschool went to the pumpkin patch in Hayden. Timothy & I went along. They both did great...Timothy slept most of the time & Joshua had a blast.
He loved picking out pumpkins this year! He wanted to bring all of them home!

A train ride with friends & their moms....Timothy was sleeping so he & I just watched this one! We all three did the wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch though. I don't have any pictures of Timothy, but he was super cute. We are hoping to do a family pumpkin patch trip before the end of the month, so we will get some pictures of all of us then!

Getting Bigger!
Here are the brothers again! Joshua is still in his pjs & his hair hasn't been combed yet! Timothy is only dressed because he spit up on his pjs! Its actually surprising he isn't in a sleeper anyway....probaby because I have 3 baskets of clean baby clothes to fold in the other room! I need more of me! Anyway, Timothy went for his 6 week check up yesterday. He is following in his brother's footsteps....he was 14 lbs 3.5 oz at 6 weeks & 6 days. Joshua was 12 lbs & 6 oz (I think) at 6 weeks. Big boys!

The Boppy
I mentioned before that everyone loves Timothy's gear. The boppy is especially popular. Everytime I leave it laying on the couch or bed, Belle curls up in it. The other day, I found Joshua like this after I gave him some goldfish:
I guess he figures it has something to do with eating! He was also running around holding it around his waist....looked like he was ready to go swimming with a little ring!
